Aleksandr Belov (canoeist)

Aleksandr Belov is a Soviet and Russian sprint canoeist who competed from the late 1970s to the early 1990s. He specialized in the C-1 (Canadian single) event.

Belov won a bronze medal in the C-1 500 m event at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. He also earned several medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, including a gold in the C-1 500 m (1982), a silver in the C-1 500 m (1981), and a bronze in the C-1 1000 m (1979).

His career spanned a period of significant Soviet dominance in canoe sprint racing. Belov represented the Soviet Union internationally until its dissolution, after which he continued to compete representing Russia.
