Alain De Nil (born 17 August 1966 in Jette, Belgium) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He earned one cap for the Belgium national football team in 1992.
Club Career
De Nil began his professional career at RWD Molenbeek (RWDM) in 1983, where he won the Belgian Second Division title in 1984–85. He moved to KV Mechelen in 1986, winning the Belgian Cup in 1986–87 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1987–88, though he did not play in either final due to injuries. He subsequently played for Cercle Brugge (1988–1992), where he became a regular starter, followed by spells at KAA Gent (1992–1994), RFC Seraing (1994–1995), KFC Germinal Ekeren/Beerschot (1995–1996), Racing Jet Wavre (1996–1997), Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (1997–1999), SK Vorwärts Steyr in Austria (1999–2000), Standaard Wetteren (2000–2004), and RSD Jette (2004–2005), where he ended his career.
International Career
De Nil played one match for the Belgium national team, a 1994 FIFA World Cup qualification match against the Faroe Islands on 3 June 1992, which Belgium won 3–0.
