Akwasi Osei-Adjei is a Ghanaian politician and diplomat who has held several senior cabinet positions in the Government of Ghana. He is a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Political Career Osei-Adjei served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Ejisu-Juaben constituency in the Ashanti Region for multiple terms, first elected in the 2000 Ghanaian general election and retaining the seat in 2004 and 2008.
Under the administration of President John Agyekum Kufuor, he held the following ministerial portfolios:
- Minister for Transport (2001–2003)
- Minister for Foreign Affairs (2003–2007)
- Minister for Lands, Forestry and Mines (2007–2009)
As Foreign Minister, he represented Ghana at the United Nations and the African Union, and played a role in regional diplomacy within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Later Career Following the NPP's defeat in the 2008 general election, Osei-Adjei remained active in party politics. He contested the Ejisu-Juaben parliamentary seat again in 2012 but lost the NPP primary to Kwabena Owusu Aduomi. He has subsequently served in various capacities within the party structure, including as a member of the NPP Council of Elders.
