Ahmed Raouf (Arabic: أحمد رؤوف; born 31 May 1982) is an Egyptian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Over the course of his career he appeared for several clubs in the Egyptian Premier League and represented the Egypt national team.
Early life and youth career
Born in Cairo, Egypt, Raouf began his football development in the youth academy of Al Ahly, one of the country's most successful clubs. He progressed through the youth ranks before making his senior debut.
Club career
- Al Ahly (2002–2005) – Raouf made his professional debut with Al Ahly, contributing to domestic league and cup campaigns.
- Al-Masry (2005–2009) – He transferred to Al-Masry, where he established himself as a regular starter and scored multiple goals in league competition.
- Zamalek SC (2009–2011) – Raouf signed with Zamalek SC, another of Egypt's top clubs, and participated in both league and continental fixtures.
- El Gouna (2011–2013) – He later joined El Gouna, continuing to compete in the Egyptian Premier League.
- Al Ittihad Alexandria (2013–2015) – His final professional stint was with Al Ittihad Alexandria before retiring from active play.
International career
Raouf earned caps for the Egypt national team between 2006 and 2009. He was part of the squad that won the 2008 African Nations Cup (AFCON) and contributed as a squad member, though he made limited appearances in tournament matches.
Style of play
Primarily positioned as a forward, Raouf was known for his pace, positioning in the penalty area, and ability to link up with midfielders. His versatility allowed him to operate both as a central striker and on the flanks when required.
Retirement and post‑playing activities
