Ahmadluy-e Olya (Persian: احمدلوی علیا, also Romanized as Aḩmadlū-ye ‘Olyā) is a village in Iran. It is situated within the Qarah Zia od Din Rural District, which forms part of the Central District of Miandoab County in West Azerbaijan Province.
According to the 2006 census of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ahmadluy-e Olya had a population of 212 individuals, comprising 44 families. The village is one of several settlements in the region that share the name element “Ahmadlu,” a common toponym in northwestern Iran.
The name “Ahmadluy-e Olya” combines the personal name “Ahmad,” the suffix “‑lu” denoting “people of” or “descendants of,” and the Persian word “Olya,” meaning “upper.” The designation therefore distinguishes this settlement from a nearby counterpart often labeled “Ahmadluy-e Sofla” (“lower”).
Geographically, the village lies in the mountainous terrain of West Azerbaijan, an area characterized by a semi‑arid climate, agricultural activity, and a predominantly Azerbaijani Turkic‑speaking population. Administrative affiliation places Ahmadluy-e Olya under the jurisdiction of Miandoab County authorities.
No further notable historical, cultural, or economic information about Ahmadluy-e Olya has been documented in widely accessible encyclopedic sources.
