Agustín García Basso

Agustín Eugenio García Basso (born 26 March 1992) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a defender for Racing Club in the Argentine Primera División.

Born in Vedia, Buenos Aires Province, García Basso began his youth career with Deportivo MacAllister before joining Boca Juniors. He made his senior debut for Boca Juniors on 11 May 2013 in a 3–0 away defeat to San Lorenzo during the 2012–13 Argentine Primera División season.

After limited first‑team opportunities at Boca, García Basso spent the 2013–14 season on loan at Club Atlético Douglas Haig in Primera B Nacional, making 26 appearances. He subsequently signed permanently with Sportivo Belgrano in February 2015, where he featured in 30 matches. The defender then moved to Club y Biblioteca Ramón Santamarina (2016–2017), scoring his first senior goal on his debut for the club against Juventud Unida on 30 January 2017.

In August 2017 García Basso transferred to Club Agropecuario Argentino, remaining there until June 2020. He later played for Estudiantes de Buenos Aires (2020–2021), Quilmes Atlético Club (2021–2022), and C.D. Cuenca in Ecuador (2022–2023). A brief stint with Independiente del Valle followed before he joined Racing Club in 2024, where he wears the number 2 shirt.

García Basso is the grandson of former professional footballer Oscar Basso. Throughout his career, he has been employed primarily as a central defender and has accumulated over one hundred senior appearances across Argentine and Ecuadorian clubs.
