Agnieszka Kotlarska (model)

Agnieszka Kotlarska (born August 15, 1972, in Wrocław, Poland; died August 27, 1996, in Wrocław, Poland) was a Polish model and beauty queen. She gained national recognition after being crowned Miss Polonia in 1991 and subsequently represented her country in international beauty pageants. Her promising career was tragically cut short when she was murdered in 1996.

Early Life and Career Born and raised in Wrocław, Agnieszka Kotlarska embarked on a modeling career in her youth. Her striking beauty and poise led her to compete in the Miss Polonia pageant, the national beauty contest of Poland. In 1991, at the age of 19, she won the coveted title of Miss Polonia, earning the right to represent Poland on the global stage.

Following her national victory, Kotlarska participated in the Miss International 1992 pageant, held in Japan. She performed admirably, placing among the Top 15 semi-finalists. Her success in these contests opened doors to international modeling opportunities. She worked with renowned designers and fashion houses, including Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, gaining recognition in the fashion world.

Tragic Death On August 27, 1996, at the age of 24, Agnieszka Kotlarska was fatally stabbed outside her home in Wrocław. The perpetrator was Jerzy Lisiewski, a stalker who had developed an obsession with her. Kotlarska's husband, Jarosław Świątek, was also injured during the attack while attempting to defend her. Lisiewski was later apprehended, tried, and sentenced to prison for her murder.

Kotlarska's death sent shockwaves through Poland and the international modeling community, highlighting the dangers faced by public figures from obsessed individuals. Her murder remains a poignant example of the tragic consequences of stalking.
