Park Soo‑hyun (Korean: 박수현; born 25 September 1997), known professionally as Adora (stylised as ADORA), is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and record producer. She debuted as a solo artist on 5 November 2021 under Aura Entertainment with the digital single “Make U Dance” (featuring Eunha of Viviz) and released her first extended play, Adorable Rebirth, in September 2022. Prior to her solo career, Adora gained recognition for writing and producing songs for major K‑pop acts, most notably BTS, TXT, GFriend, Fromis 9, and Chungha, while working as an in‑house producer for Big Hit Music (now HYBE Labels).
Early life and training
Adora began singing and composing music at a young age. At 13 she wrote a fan song for the band Highlight (2011). She entered Stardom Entertainment in 2012 at age 14 and trained with the boy group Topp Dog g, co‑composing the track “Playground” for their debut EP Dogg’s Out (2013). After leaving Stardom, she joined Music K Entertainment in 2014 and trained with members of the project group The Ark, though she did not debut with the final lineup.
Career
2016–2020: Producer for Big Hit Music
In 2016 Adora auditioned for Big Hit Music’s “Next New Creator” program, passing the second round but initially declining an offer due to existing trainee commitments. Big Hit later sent her demo tracks for BTS’s sophomore album Wings, resulting in her first professional credit on “Interlude: Wings”. She subsequently contributed to BTS’s 2017 repackage You Never Walk Alone, co‑writing the hit singles “Spring Day” and “Not Today”.
As an in‑house producer at Big Hit, she co‑wrote and co‑produced songs for other label artists, including TXT and GFriend. She left the company in 2020, citing limited creative contribution.
2021–present: Solo debut and releases
In October 2021, media outlets reported that Adora signed an exclusive contract with Aura Entertainment. She launched her solo career with “Make U Dance” on 5 November 2021, featuring Eunha. The Recording Academy later highlighted her as one of five K‑pop songwriters and producers who “defined 2021”. NME listed her among artists to watch in 2022.
Subsequent solo releases include:
- “The Little Name” (7 March 2022) – accompanied by an animated video inspired by The Little Prince.
- “Trouble? Travel!” (1 June 2022) – promoted with a performance on KBS2’s Music Bank.
Adora also participated in the variety program Sing in the Green (July 2022), contributing three tracks: “Together Forever” (feat. Kim Dong‑hyun), “The End of Eternity”, and “Sing in the Green” (with the full cast).
Her debut EP Adorable Rebirth (26 September 2022) contains nine tracks, including the prior singles and six new songs such as the lead single “Magical Symphony”. She later appeared as a mentor on SBS’s survival show Universe Ticket (2023) and released the supportive single “I’m Here for You” (28 December 2023).
Personal health
In 2023 Adora disclosed that she underwent thyroid‑cancer surgery at age 23 (Korean age), describing it as a pivotal moment that reaffirmed her resolve to pursue singing.
