Adis Bećiragić (Turkish: Aziz Bekir; born 18 June 1970) is a Bosnian-Turkish professional basketball coach and former player who is currently the head coach for Trepça of the Kosovo ProCredit Superliga. He was a key player for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team during the 1990s.
Early Life and Playing Career
Born in Sarajevo, SFR Yugoslavia (now Bosnia and Herzegovina), Bećiragić began his professional career in 1990 with Bosna, the former European champions. He later played for Zenica Metalno, and in Turkey for PTT and Ülkerspor. He played at the point guard position. During his time playing in Turkey, he gained Turkish citizenship under the name Aziz Bekir.
Bećiragić was a pivotal member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, representing the country at EuroBasket 1993, 1997, and 1999. Bosnia and Herzegovina reached the quarter-finals of the 1993 edition. He ended his playing career in 2000.
Coaching Career
Bećiragić began his coaching career in 2007 as an assistant to Murat Özyer at Galatasaray. He served as head coach for several Turkish clubs, including Kepez Belediyesi (2011–2012), Darüşşafaka (2012–2014), Royal Halı Gaziantep (2014), Torku Konyaspor (2014–2016), and Uşak Sportif (2017–2018). He also coached Peja (2020–2021) and Ylli (2021–2023) in Kosovo, and served as head coach of the Iraq national team in 2020.
In June 2022, Bećiragić was appointed head coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina men's national team. In February 2025, he led the team to qualify for EuroBasket 2025. In May 2023, he also became head coach of Trepça in the Kosovo ProCredit Superliga.
