Abu Mina virus (ABMV), also known as Abu Mina orthonairovirus (scientific name: Orthonairovirus abuminaense), is a species of virus in the genus Orthonairovirus. It was first isolated from ticks in Egypt and is named after the Abu Mina archaeological site in Egypt. This virus has not been reported to cause disease in humans. It is classified within the family Nairoviridae and order Bunyavirales. The virus is primarily of interest in virological research and tick-borne virus surveillance.
