Abdoulaye Loum (born March 25, 1991) is a French professional basketball player who plays as a power forward or center. Standing at 2.07 m (6 ft 9 in) tall, he has spent his entire professional career playing in various clubs within the French LNB Pro A and Pro B leagues.
Early Life and Youth Career
Loum was born in Toulouse, France. He began his basketball development at a young age, eventually joining the prestigious INSEP (Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance) program. Abdoulaye Loum commenced his professional career in 2009 with ASVEL Basket (Association Sportive de Villeurbanne et du Lyon), one of the most prominent clubs in the LNB Pro A, France's top-tier basketball league. He remained with ASVEL for five seasons, gaining significant professional experience and developing his skills.In 2014, he transferred to Le Mans Sarthe Basket, where he played for two seasons, solidifying his reputation as a dependable frontcourt player in the Pro A. Following his tenure in Le Mans, Loum joined Orléans Loiret Basket in 2016. He played two seasons with Orléans, during which he experienced playing in the Pro B (second division) after the club's relegation, and subsequently contributed to their efforts to secure promotion back to the Pro A.
He then signed with Élan Chalon in 2018, competing with the club for two seasons. In 2020, Loum moved to SLUC Nancy Basket, where he played until 2022, making contributions in the French leagues.
Since 2022, Abdoulaye Loum has been a player for Nanterre 92, continuing his professional career in the LNB Pro A. Throughout his career, Loum has been recognized for his physical presence, rebounding prowess, and defensive capabilities on the court.
