AD Ceuta

Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta, commonly known as AD Ceuta, was a Spanish football club based in the autonomous city of Ceuta, located on the North African coast. Founded in 1969, it was the successor to earlier Ceuta-based clubs, aiming to consolidate the city's footballing representation.

The club was established through the merger of Sociedad Deportiva Ceuta and Atlético de Ceuta. Its primary objective was to create a strong, unified team capable of competing at higher levels of the Spanish football league system.

AD Ceuta played its home matches at the Estadio Alfonso Murube, which continues to be the main stadium for football in Ceuta. The team primarily competed in the lower divisions of Spanish football. Its most notable achievement was reaching the Segunda División (second tier) for the 1969–70 season, though their tenure at that level was brief, and they were relegated after one season. For the majority of its existence, the club participated in the Segunda División B (third tier) and Tercera División (fourth tier).

Due to financial difficulties, Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta ceased operations and was dissolved in 1991. Despite its dissolution, the legacy of football in Ceuta continued through subsequent clubs. Notably, Asociación Deportiva Ceuta was founded in 1996 and competed until its dissolution in 2012. The current prominent club, Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta Fútbol Club (founded in 2013 and often referred to as AD Ceuta FC), continues the city's football tradition, inheriting the spirit and some of the fan base of its predecessors, although not being a direct legal continuation of the original AD Ceuta.
