A News was the brand name for local news broadcasts on the "A" television system (later A-Channel, then CTV Two) in Canada, primarily associated with CIVI-DT, the station serving Victoria and Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Launched on October 17, 2005, A News represented the local news arm of the CHUM Limited-owned "A" television system, which aimed to provide strong local programming in markets where it operated. For CIVI-DT (branded as A-Channel Victoria), "A News" became its primary local news identity, offering newscasts specifically tailored to Vancouver Island viewers. The programming included daily evening newscasts, a late-night bulletin, and often morning news segments.
Following Bell Canada's acquisition of CTVglobemedia (which had previously acquired CHUM Limited assets excluding Citytv) in 2011, the "A" system was rebranded as CTV Two. Consequently, the "A News" brand was retired, and local newscasts on CIVI-DT became known as CTV News Vancouver Island, integrating more closely with the broader CTV News brand while maintaining its local focus.
