71 Tauri

71 Tauri is a star located in the northern constellation Taurus. It is designated by its Flamsteed designation, a system that identifies stars within a constellation, indicating it as the 71st star in Taurus by increasing right ascension.

This star has an apparent visual magnitude of approximately 5.4 to 5.5, which means it is faintly visible to the naked eye under dark and clear sky conditions, particularly away from light pollution. 71 Tauri is classified as a yellow-white main-sequence star with a spectral type of F6V. This classification indicates that it is slightly hotter and more massive than the Sun, and it is currently undergoing the primary phase of its stellar life, fusing hydrogen into helium in its core, similar to the Sun.

Based on parallax measurements obtained by the Gaia space observatory, 71 Tauri is estimated to be located at a distance of about 130 light-years (approximately 40 parsecs) from Earth.

In addition to its Flamsteed designation, 71 Tauri is also known by other catalog identifiers, including HD 30206, HR 1526, and HIP 22213.
