The 30 April 1987 Saint Lucian general election was the second general election held in Saint Lucia during that month. It followed an earlier election on 6 April 1987, which had resulted in a narrow victory for the incumbent United Workers Party (UWP). Prime Minister John Compton called the second election in an attempt to increase his party's thin parliamentary majority.
The results of the 30 April election were identical to the results of the 6 April election. The United Workers Party won 9 seats in the House of Assembly, while the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP), led by Julian Hunte, won 8 seats. The Progressive Labour Party (PLP) also contested the election but failed to win any seats.
The UWP received approximately 53.2% of the popular vote, while the SLP received 42.5%. Voter turnout was recorded at 64.7%, a slight decrease from the 60.7% reported in the earlier April election (though some records vary on exact turnout percentages for the two dates).
Because the seat distribution remained unchanged, John Compton continued as Prime Minister with a one-seat majority in the 17-seat House of Assembly. This sequence of elections remains a notable event in Saint Lucian political history due to the unusual occurrence of two general elections being held within a 24-day period with no change in the parliamentary balance of power.
