24K (Korean: 투포케이; stylized as 24K) is a South Korean boy band formed by Choeun Entertainment. The group officially debuted on September 6, 2012, with their first mini-album, Ur My 24K. Known for their blend of hip-hop and electronic dance music, 24K gained a following both in South Korea and internationally, despite undergoing numerous member changes throughout its career.
History Prior to the full group's debut, Choeun Entertainment introduced a vocal sub-unit named 4K (For K-pop), consisting of members Cory, Sungoh, Kisu, and Seokjune, who released a ballad track. The full six-member lineup of 24K, which included Cory, Sungoh, Kisu, Jeunguk, Byungho, and Seokjune, then officially debuted with a more energetic, hip-hop-influenced sound.
Throughout its active years, 24K experienced frequent shifts in its lineup. Members departed for various reasons, including military enlistment, health issues, and pursuing individual careers, while new members were introduced. This high turnover rate was a defining characteristic of the group, yet they continued to release music and perform. Notable releases include the mini-albums Super Fly (2015), The Real One (2016), and Bonnie N Clyde (2018), which helped them build a dedicated fanbase. Their music videos often featured dynamic choreography and vibrant aesthetics, contributing to their appeal.
Musical Style 24K's sound primarily fuses K-pop with elements of hip-hop, R&B, and electronic dance music (EDM). Early in their career, their tracks often highlighted strong rap verses and powerful hip-hop beats. As their discography expanded, they also incorporated more synth-driven and melodic EDM sounds, showcasing versatility in their musical direction. Their live performances were noted for their intense choreography and synchronized group movements.
