The 2022 European Badminton Championships were the 30th edition of the continental tournament organized by Badminton Europe. The competition took place in Madrid, Spain, from 27 April to 30 April 2022. It featured the five standard badminton events: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The championships served as a key ranking event for European players ahead of the 2022 BWF World Championships and contributed to qualification points for the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour.
The tournament was hosted at the Palacio de los Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid, a venue equipped for international sporting events. National badminton federations across Europe sent their top athletes, and the event was broadcast live through Badminton Europe’s official streaming platforms as well as partner broadcasters in participating countries.
The 2022 edition continued the biennial tradition of the European Badminton Championships, following the 2020 tournament, and precedes the 2024 championships scheduled to be held in Kazan, Russia.
