The group stage was conducted between February 16 and March 7, 2020, across four host venues in the Pacific region.

Cancellation On March 9, 2020, the OFC announced the postponement of the knockout stage (originally scheduled for April–May 2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated travel restrictions. On September 3, 2020, the OFC Executive Committee officially cancelled the remainder of the 2020 OFC Champions League. Consequently, no champion was crowned for the 2020 season, and the group stage results stood as the final competitive matches of the tournament.
Qualification for FIFA Club World Cup As the tournament was cancelled, the OFC slot for the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup (held in 2021 due to pandemic rescheduling) was awarded to Auckland City FC, based on their sporting merit from the group stage (three wins, maximum points) and their historical status as the most successful club in the competition.
