The 2015 Wellington Sevens was a men's rugby sevens tournament held on 6–7 February 2015 at Westpac Stadium in Wellington, New Zealand. It formed the fourth stop of the 2014–15 World Rugby Sevens Series (formerly the IRB Sevens World Series) and was the sixteenth edition of the Wellington Sevens, an annual event that had been part of the international series since 2000.
Tournament format
Sixteen national teams—comprising the core teams of the 2014–15 series—were divided into four pools (A to D) of four teams each. Each team played the others in its pool once, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the Cup quarter‑finals. Teams placed third and fourth in their pools entered the Bowl competition, while losing teams from the Cup and Bowl quarter‑finals contested the Plate and Shield brackets, respectively.
