The 2015 Asian Water Polo Championship was held from 16 to 20 December 2015 in Foshan, China. It served as the Asian continental qualification tournament for the water polo events at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event was organized by the Asia Swimming Federation (AASF) and featured both a men's and a women's tournament. The winner of each tournament qualified directly for the 2016 Olympic water polo tournament.
Men's Tournament
Five teams competed in a round-robin format: Japan, China, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. Japan won the men's tournament with a perfect record of 4 wins and 0 losses, scoring 79 goals while conceding only 21. China finished second, Kazakhstan third, Iran fourth, and Saudi Arabia fifth. In the final match on 20 December, Japan defeated China 16–10 to secure the Olympic berth.
Women's Tournament
Two teams competed: China and Japan. China won the women's tournament, defeating Japan in both matches (14–8 on 16 December and 9–6 on 17 December), thereby qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics.

All matches were held at the Century Lotus Stadium in Foshan, China.
