2006–07 FA Trophy

The 2006–07 FA Trophy was the 38th season of the Football Association's cup competition for English football clubs playing at levels five to eight of the national league system. The tournament began in November 2006 and concluded with the final at Wembley Stadium, London, on 13 May 2007.

Overview
The FA Trophy is a knockout competition open to clubs from the National League (formerly the Conference Premier) down to the lower divisions of the English football pyramid. The 2006–07 edition followed the standard FA Trophy format, with teams entering at various stages according to their league level, and matches decided by a single‑leg tie, with extra time and penalties used where necessary.

Defending champions
Grays Athletic entered the competition as the defending champions, having won the 2005–06 FA Trophy.

Progression and format

• Preliminary round – Teams from steps 7 and 8 of the National League System entered.
• First round proper – Clubs from the National League North and South joined the winners of the preliminary round.
• Second round – Teams from the National League (step 5) entered the competition.
• Subsequent rounds – The competition continued as a single‑elimination tournament through the third round, fourth round, quarter‑finals, and semi‑finals, each played as a single match.

Final
The final was contested between Kidderminster Harriers and Stevenage Borough. Kidderminster Harriers won the match 1–0 after extra time, securing the club’s first FA Trophy title. The winning goal was scored in extra time; the match was overseen by referee Rob Styles.

Significance
The 2006–07 final was the first FA Trophy final to be played at the newly rebuilt Wembley Stadium, marking a notable moment for the competition and for non‑league football in England.
