2002 Welsh Open (snooker)

The 2002 Welsh Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament held at the Cardiff International Arena in Cardiff, Wales, from January 23 to 27, 2002. It was the sixth ranking event of the 2001/2002 snooker season.

Paul Hunter won the tournament, defeating Ken Doherty 9–7 in the final. This victory marked Hunter's first ranking title. The event featured a total prize fund of £360,000, with the winner receiving £60,000.
