The 1989 WNBL season was the 9th season of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) since its establishment in 1981. The league is Australia's premier professional women's basketball competition.
The season ran from May to September 1989 and featured 10 teams from across Australia. The Grand Final was contested between the Nunawading Spectres and the Bankstown Bruins.
