1963–64 Serie C

The 1963–64 Serie C was the twenty-sixth edition of the Serie C, the third-highest professional football league in Italy. The league was structured into three regional groups (A, B, and C), with each group comprising a set number of teams. The primary objective for teams in Serie C was to achieve promotion to Serie B, while those at the bottom faced relegation to Serie D.

Overview For the 1963–64 season, Serie C maintained its format of three distinct groups. Each group featured 18 teams, bringing the total number of participating clubs to 54. Teams competed in a round-robin format, playing each other twice (home and away).

Promotion and Relegation

  • Promotion to Serie B: The winner of each of the three groups was promoted to Serie B for the following season.
  • Relegation to Serie D: The last two teams from each group were relegated to Serie D, the fourth tier of Italian football.
