The 1907 German football championship (German: Deutsche Fußballmeisterschaft 1907) was the fifth edition of the national competition organized by the Deutscher Fußball‑Bund (DFB). The tournament brought together the champions of the regional football associations that were members of the DFB for the 1906‑07 season.
Format and participants
The championship was conducted as a single‑elimination knockout competition. Six regional champions qualified: the winners of the Brandenburg, Central, South, West, Baltic and Hamburg associations. The first round comprised two quarter‑final matches; the remaining two clubs received byes to the semi‑finals. Winners advanced to the final.

Matches were played between April and June 1907. The final was held on 30 June 1907 at the Stadion an der Wiese in Hamburg.
Final and outcome
Freiburger FC defeated Viktoria 1889 Berlin 1 – 0 after extra time to claim the title. The victory marked Freiburger FC’s only German championship. As a result, the club qualified for the 1907 Mitropapokal (the early forerunner of the Central European Cup), though the competition was not yet established.
Historical significance
The 1907 championship illustrated the early structure of German football, in which regional league champions competed for a national title. It was the last championship before the DFB introduced a more formalised national league system that would eventually evolve into the modern Bundesliga in 1963.
