113 Squadron, also known as the Hornet Squadron (Hebrew: טייסת הצרעה, Tayeset Ha'Tzir'a), is a squadron of the Israeli Air Force. It operates the AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopter from Ramon Airbase.
The squadron was originally formed in 1955, flying the Ouragan fighter aircraft. It later operated the Sud Aviation Vautour. In the late 1970s, the squadron transitioned to the AH-1 Cobra attack helicopter, playing a significant role in Operation Peace for Galilee (the 1982 Lebanon War).
In the 2000s, the squadron upgraded to the AH-64D Apache Longbow, significantly enhancing its attack capabilities. The squadron is responsible for providing close air support to ground forces and conducting precision strikes against enemy targets. It has participated in numerous operations, maintaining a high level of readiness and combat effectiveness.
