111th Street (Pullman) station is a commuter rail station on Metra Electric's main branch, located in the Pullman neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois. It is situated at 111th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue, approximately 14.0 miles (22.5 km) from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, the station is in zone 2.
History and operations. The station opened in 1916 and was electrified in 1926. It was originally served by the Illinois Central Railroad's Electric Suburban service. As of 2018, the station was the 219th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 31 weekday boardings.
Facilities and design. The station consists of a single island platform situated between the tracks over a bridge, with street-level connections. No parking is available at the station. The station was renovated with a waiting shelter, custom signage, and a total makeover intended to attract more passengers to the nearby Pullman National Monument. The station is not currently ADA accessible, but is scheduled to be completely reconstructed in the near future to modernize it and make it accessible.
Connections. The station provides connections to Chicago Transit Authority bus routes, including the 4 Cottage Grove, 111A Pullman Shuttle, and 115 Pullman/115th.
Services. The station is served by Metra Electric District trains on the main line, with the preceding station to the north being 107th Street and the following station to the south being 115th Street/Kensington.
