100 North Tampa (formerly known as the Regions Building and the AmSouth Building) is a skyscraper located at 100 North Tampa Street in Tampa, Florida, United States. It is the tallest building in Tampa and the ninth-tallest building in Florida.

History
Construction began after a groundbreaking ceremony in May 1990, and the building was completed and opened in June 1992. It was originally designed as the Citizens and Southern Bank Plaza but opened as the AmSouth Building after its primary tenant, AmSouth Bancorporation. Following AmSouth's merger with Regions Bank on May 25, 2005, the building was renamed the Regions Building. Shortly thereafter, the building's owners adopted its street address as the official name: 100 North Tampa.
The building was originally developed by Plaza IV Associates. It was sold by American International Group (AIG) to Prudential Financial in late June 2007 in a record-breaking entity sale estimated at up to $150 million.
Design
The building features a façade composed of pewter-tinted glass and Spanish Rosa Dante granite. Postmodern architectural elements include a Gothic-style roof, granite cornices, prominent setbacks at the 38th and 40th floors, and 40-foot (12 m) granite arches at the two entrances.
Height Ranking
100 North Tampa is the tallest building in Tampa and the tallest structure along Florida's Gulf Coast. It stands as the ninth-tallest building in Florida overall. In 2006, the proposed Trump Tower Tampa was expected to surpass it at 593 feet (181 m) and 52 floors, but that project was canceled due to soil instabilities and a slowing real estate market.
