Đorđe Čotra

Đorđe Čotra (Serbian Cyrillic: Ђорђе Чотра; born 13 September 1984) is a Serbian former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He is best known for his time with Serbian giants Partizan, and later for a significant period in the Polish Ekstraklasa with Zagłębie Lubin and Pogoń Szczecin.

Early Life and Career Born in Mostar, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia, Čotra began his professional career in Serbia. He played for several Serbian clubs in the lower divisions, including Radnički Obrenovac and Železničar, before joining Rad in 2004. He established himself as a reliable defender at Rad, attracting attention from larger clubs.

Partizan In 2007, Čotra moved to Partizan, one of Serbia's most successful clubs. During his tenure with Partizan, he contributed to the team's domestic success, winning the Serbian SuperLiga in the 2007–08 season and the Serbian Cup in the same year. He also gained valuable experience in European competitions, including the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and the UEFA Cup/Europa League group stages. His stint at Partizan cemented his reputation as a solid and dependable left-back.

Move Abroad: Israel and Poland Following his departure from Partizan, Čotra had a brief spell with Hapoel Haifa in the Israeli Premier League in 2009.

In 2010, he moved to Poland, joining Zagłębie Lubin in the Ekstraklasa. He quickly became an integral part of their squad, known for his consistent performances, defensive solidity, and occasional attacking contributions from the left flank. He spent four successful seasons with Zagłębie Lubin, becoming a fan favourite.

In 2014, Čotra transferred to Pogoń Szczecin, another prominent club in the Polish top flight. He continued to be a regular starter and a key player for Pogoń Szczecin for several seasons, further enhancing his reputation in Polish football. He eventually concluded his professional playing career after his time at Pogoń Szczecin.

Playing Style Throughout his career, Čotra was regarded as a strong and defensively disciplined left-back. He was known for his work rate, tackling ability, and positional awareness, making him a reliable option for his teams. He also possessed good overlapping runs and crossing ability, contributing to the attacking phase when opportunities arose.
