Geography
The settlement lies at an elevation of roughly 5 m above sea level and is part of the larger Kotor Bay region, a natural harbour renowned for its scenic landscapes and historic architecture. The village is accessible via the regional road network that connects Kotor with the nearby towns of Tivat and Risan.

Demographics
According to the 2011 census conducted by the Statistical Office of Montenegro, Đenovići had a population of approximately 1,000 residents. The majority of inhabitants identified as Montenegrin, with smaller numbers declaring Serbian, Bosniak, or other ethnic affiliations. The settlement’s demographic profile reflects the broader trends of an aging population and modest out‑migration common to many coastal villages in Montenegro.

Economy
Đenovići’s economy is primarily based on tourism, fishing, and small‑scale agriculture. Its location on the Bay of Kotor makes it a destination for visitors seeking waterfront accommodations, traditional seafood restaurants, and proximity to historic sites in Kotor and the surrounding peninsula. Some residents are employed in the nearby maritime and service sectors of the greater Kotor and Tivat areas.

Infrastructure and Transport
The village is served by regular bus lines that link it with Kotor, Tivat, and Herceg Novi. The nearest major transportation hub is Tivat Airport, located about 25 km to the southeast, providing both domestic and international flights. Utilities such as electricity, water supply, and telecommunications are integrated with the municipal infrastructure of Kotor.

Cultural and Historical Notes
Đenovići is part of the historic Bay of Kotor region, which has been inhabited since antiquity and was historically under the rule of the Venetian Republic, the Ottoman Empire, and later the Austro‑Hungarian Empire before becoming part of modern Montenegro. While the village itself does not contain major historic monuments, its traditional stone houses and narrow streets reflect the architectural heritage characteristic of the Bay of Kotor coastal communities.
